River Market Returns to Its Original 1940's Color!!

We were inspired to repaint the market this summer! Our painter Brian chipped away at the paint layers and to our surprise discovered the 1940's original color was a light creme.  Brian paingstainkinly repainted the entire building and matched it back to the original color!! We're all so happy with the results and have received an overwhelmingly positive response to the refresh!!  New photos of the paint job will be posted soon!!
Thanks Brian!!

River Market marks one-year anniversary
  • Business Briefs
BARRYVILLE, NY — Celebrating one year under new ownership, the River Market will offer a customer appreciation day on November 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be prizes to be won, free samples of food and more. Among the store owners’ proudest achievements is a rewards program, which gives loyal customers five points for any purchase; since its inception the program has given away more than 200 items or products to these patrons.

Owners moved to Barryville full-time to operate this popular country store, which is known for its coffee and homemade baked goods, an extensive deli menu, and its private-label jams and salsas, among a wide variety of other products. “It’s been a very successful year and with Thanksgiving coming, we want to say thanks to our local customers.”

Get it on in Sullivan County! The River Market featured in New York Magazine.

Four corners at the junction of routes 97 and 55, plus two blocks farther down the highway, are pretty much it for Barryville. But the streets are home to a telling mix: Barryville Bottle, an upscale wineshop with a friendly golden retriever standing sentry; Barryville Emporium, a cherry-red antiques barn owned by a sculptor and overrun with vintage signage, birdcages, and Radio Flyers; The gourmet grocer River Market, which is run by former Manhattanites John and Athena, and carries both no-frills labels and city-slicker items like Sriracha.
