We're thrilled to announce the arrival of Jane's Ice Cream!!
This small family run business lovingly crafts their ice cream in small batches just 90 miles north of Manhattan in historic Kingston near the heart of the Hudson Valley.  Known for its ultra-creamy, bold and unique flavors, Jane’s uses the best hormone-free milk from New York State cows and only the finest natural and local ingredients to flavor their ice creams.  With no artificial flavors or colors and only plant-based stabilizers, you can rest assured that Jane’s tasty treats live up to your quality standards.  All flavors, except those with cookies or cookie dough, are gluten free.  All of the sorbets are completely dairy-free and made with real whole fruit.  All flavors are egg free.  Worried about nuts? Jane’s produces all of their nut flavors at the end of the day, after which all machinery is broken down and sanitized for the next day.

8 REASONS TO BUY LOCAL!!

3/13/2019

It tastes better. Food that is grown closer to home has spent less time in transit and in warehouses so that it is fresher and tastes better.

It is better for you. The farther that food has to travel, the more nutrients it loses. Locally grown food has more nutritional value.

It creates accountability. Farmers take responsibility for food that they sell directly to consumers. Consumers take comfort in knowing the source of their food.

It supports the local economy. Buying from local farmers is a way to sustain rural economies and make sure that small farming communities survive. It protects the environment. Well-managed farms must have fertile soil and clean water. They maintain ecosystems that plants, animals and humans inhabit.

It preserves the working landscape. The sustainability of farming prevents development from consuming all of our open spaces. Supporting local farmers is the best way to address the encroachment of excessive development.

It's part of our culture. Our culture is rich with music, art and literature that have drawn from the values instilled through farming. Losing our farmers would compromise an essential part of our cultural heritage.

It is an investment in the future. This year, our agricultural imports exceeded the value of our exports. A safe food system supports local farmers so that we can feed ourselves, as a nation, for generations to come.

Autumn Season

10/4/2018

One of the greatest fall attractions in the Catskills is the place itself. Changing leaves turn the Catskill Mountains into a multi-color masterpiece. Leaf-peeping is one of fall's oldest pastimes, but what's the best way to see the foliage of the Catskills? Whether you find your viewpoint from atop a mountain, in a car, or with a beverage in your hand, one thing is for certain – these colors will take your breath away.
In the Great Outdoors
There's no better way to take in the foliage than adventuring outside! Choose from hiking in the Catskill Mountains, hitting the greens with a round of golf, or spending mild fall days and cool autumn nights camping Catskills-style.
On a Scenic Drive
Travel across rolling farm country and down winding roads. Traverse steep hillsides up to stunning waterfalls or descend to deep reservoirs glimmering with the reflections of changing leaves. The Catskills hold boundless opportunities for seeing fall foliage from the comfort of your car during a scenic drive. As you pass through the small towns and villages that dot the landscape, be sure to stop and see what special treats fall has brought to each community!
